WHAT IS BBL?

Broad Band Light, or BBL , is a non-ablative procedure, meaning that it does not damage the surface of the skin, but it gradually and naturally restores a smooth, even surface by diminishing (or eliminating) age spots on the face, hands and chest.

HOW DOES BBL WORK?

BBL delivers high intensity pulses of broadband light that are different from the narrow band light of lasers. The broad band light is delivered to the deeper parts of the skin (dermis) and leaves the superficial aspect of the skin (epidermis) untouched. The thermal effect of BBL also causes production of new collagen, leading to improvement in fine lines.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A BBL TREATMENT?

Given there is little damage to the skin surface, several treatments may be required. For best results, approximately 3-6 treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart, may be needed. Side effects can include transient redness and temporary dark pigment resembling coffee grinds in the treated area, which naturally slough off within 5-7 days. Minimizing sun exposure can reduce these side effects. Professional grade sunscreen of SPF 35 is recommended daily through the duration of treatments.
BBL can also be combined with Halo Laser skin rejuvenation. By smoothing out wrinkles, improving facial contours along the jawline and clearing up sun and age spots, this combination treatment delivers even more complete facial rejuvenation.
